Answer : The Internet is the latest in modern science. It has made great strides in information and communication systems. It is the connection of telephone with computer through networking method. Now the internet has gained global connectivity and Gaeta has turned the world into a sixth village. Nowadays, in developing countries, the Internet has become an invaluable tool for thoughtful individuals, lawyers and the business community. This is because linking to a global website has become extremely expensive in areas where telecommunications infrastructure is underdeveloped or highly regulated. These groups primarily use the Internet to communicate with individuals or groups via e-mail.
ইন্টারনেট হলাে আধুনিক বিজ্ঞানের সর্বশেষ আবিষ্কার। এটি তথ্য ও যােগাযােগ পদ্ধতিতে ব্যাপক অগ্রগতি এনে দিয়েছে। এটি নেটওয়ার্কিং পদ্ধতির মাধ্যমে কম্পিউটারের সাথে টেলিফোনের সংযােগ। এখন ইন্টারনেট বিশ্বব্যাপী সংযােগ পেয়েছে এবং গােটা বিশ্বকে একটা ছােট গ্রামে পরিণত করে দিয়েছে। আজকাল ইন্টারনেট উন্নয়নশীল দেশগুলােতে চিন্তাশীল ব্যক্তিবর্গ উকিল মহল ও ব্যবসায়িক সম্প্রদায়ের জন্য অমূল্য যন্ত্রে পরিণত হয়েছে। কারণ বিশ্বব্যাপি ওয়েব সাইটের সাথে যুক্ত করা সেই সকল এলাকায় অত্যন্ত ব্যয়বহুল হয়ে গেছে যেখানে টেলিযােগাযােগের অবকাঠামাে অনুন্নত অথবা অত্যন্ত নিয়ন্ত্রিত। এই দলগুলাে ই-মেইলের মাধ্যমে ব্যক্তি বা অন্তদলগুলাের সাথে যােগাযােগ করতে প্রাথমিকভাবে ইন্টারনেট ব্যবহার করে।
Everything has its pros and cons. The Internet is no exception. There are also some abuses. Especially teenagers are getting addicted to internet. Most of the time they are chatting with friends and strangers. And thus they are wasting their precious time even though it is a good time to study with their mind. They are addicted to pornography and do a lot of harmful things. As a result, they are moving away from education and moral decay. Sometimes terrorists take advantage of the Internet to further their nefarious purposes. Computer hacking using the internet is a daily occurrence. It is also used to spread rumors which create chaos in the society. In addition, there is a risk of personal information being stolen on the Internet.
সবকিছুরই ভালাে ও মন্দ উভয় দিক রয়েছে। ইন্টারনেট ও এর ব্যতিক্রম নয়। এরও কিছু অপব্যবহার রয়েছে। বিশেষ করে কিশাের- কিশােরীরা ইন্টারনেটের প্রতি আসক্ত হয়ে পড়ছে। বেশিরভাগ সময়ই তারা বন্ধু ও অপরিচিত মানুষদের সাথে আড্ডায় নিয়ােজিত থাকে। এবং এভাবে তারা তাদের মূল্যবান সময়ের অপচয় করছে যদিও এটি হলাে তাদের মনােযােগের সাথে পড়াশােনা করার উপযুক্ত সময়। তারা পর্ণগ্রাফিতে ঝুঁকে থাকে এবং আরাে অনেক ক্ষতিকর কাজ করে। ফলে তারা পড়শুনা থেকে দূরে সরে যাচ্ছে এবং নৈতিক অবক্ষয় হচ্ছে। মাঝে মাঝে সন্ত্রাসীরা তাদের অসৎ উদ্দেশ্য সাধনে ইন্টারনেটের আসল সুবিধাটুকু গ্রহণ করে। ইন্টারনেট ব্যবহার করে কম্পিউটার হ্যাকিং নিত্য ঘটনা। গুজব ছড়াতেও এটি ব্যবহৃত হয় যা সমাজে বিশৃঙ্খলা সৃষ্টি করে। এছাড়া, ইন্টারনেটে ব্যক্তিগত তথ্য চুরি হওয়ার আশংকা থাকে।
