Answer : Victory Day refers to the day of success on which a nation has won in a battle against the oppressors. The war of our liberation commenced on the 26th March, 1971 and we achieved victory on the 16th December of the same year. Every year, the people of Bangladesh celebrate the 16th December as the Vicory Day. This day is celebrated because on this very day Bangladesh emerged as an independent state and the barbarous Pak surrendered to the Allied Forces of Bangladsh. Our valiant sons including a number of armed forces joined the independence war. During the nine months long war, we lost thousands of innocent lives including women and children. The national flag is hoisted on the top of every house and office building. Special prayers in mosques and temples are offered. Special foods are served in hospitals and prisons. বঙ্গানুবাদ : বিজয় দিবস দ্বারা সাফল্য/জয় লাভ করা দিনকে বােঝানাে হয় যেদিন একটি জাতি তার শােষকদের বিরুদ্ধে যুদ্ধে জয়লাভ করেছে। ১৯৭১ সালের ২৬শে মার্চ আমাদের স্বাধীনতা যুদ্ধ শুরু হয় এবং একই বছরের ১৬ই ডিসেম্বর আমরা বিজয় অর্জন করেছিলাম। প্রতি বছর বাংলাদেশের জনগণ ১৬ই ডিসেম্বরকে বিজয় দিবস হিসেবে উদযাপন করে। এই দিনটি উদৃযাপন করা হয় কারণ এই দিনেই স্বাধীন রাষ্ট্র হিসেবে বাংলাদেশের অভ্যুদয় ঘটে এবং বর্কবের পাকিস্তানি বাহিনী মিত্রবাহিনীর নিকট আত্মঅসমর্পণ করে। কিছু সংখ্যক সশস্ত্র বাহিনীসহ আমাদের সাহসী সন্ভানেরা স্বাধীনতা যুদ্ধ অংশগ্রহণ করেছিল। দীর্ঘ নয় মাসের যুদ্ধ আমরা নারী ও শিশুসহ অসংখ্য নিষ্পাপ জীবন হারিয়েছি। অনেক রক্তের বিনিময়ে আমরা বিজয় অর্জন করেছি। আমরা যথাযােগ্য মর্যাদায় দিনটি উদযাপন করি। প্রতিটি অফিস ভবন ও বাড়ির ছাদে জাতীয় পতাকা উত্তোলন করা হয়। মসজিদ ও মন্দিরে বিশেষ প্রার্থনা করা হয়। হাসপাতাল ও জেলখানায় বিশেষ খাবার পরিবেশন করা হয়। এই দিনে বিভিন্ন আলােচনা সভায় আমরা আমাদের স্বাধীনতা যুদ্ধের ইতিহাসকে স্মরণ করি। স্বাধীনতার জন্য যারা প্রাণ দিয়েছেন তাদের প্রতি আমরা গভীর শ্রদ্ধা নিবেদন করি।
