Answer : Price hike means the rise of price of daily necessaries. It goes beyond the purchasing capacity of the general people. Today price hike is a common problem in our economy. The price of essential commodities is increasing by leaps and bounds. The causes of price hike are many. Hoarding is one of the most important factors for soaring price level. Dishonest businessmen hoard the essential commodities with an ill motive and as a result there is break down in the supply. Smuggling and black marketing are also important factors that cause price hike. Essential commodities are always being smuggled across the border. Shortage of supply due to low production also increases the price of essential goods. Unexpected and sudden natural disasters are responsible for this. Our population is increasing in geometrical progress, while the supply of food increases in arithmetical progress. For this the supply of goods is very scanty in comparison to our demands. The poor and low income people are the worst victim of price hike. The dishonest businessmen are the ultimate beneficiaries of it. However, efforts be made and necessary actions and proper measures should be taken to tackle shou the situation. Hoarding, smuggling and black-marketing should be controlled. Adequate supply of essential commodities is to be ensured. Govt. has to monitor the markets strictly. No individual, community, or the government is capable of solving the problem single handed. So, we all should come forward to solve it. Public awareness can be raised through newspaper and media.

বঙ্গানুবাদ : দ্রব্যমূল্যের উর্ধ্বগতি বলতে নিত্য প্রয়ােজনীয় জিনিসপত্রের দাম বেড়ে যাওয়া বুঝায়। এটি সাধারণ মানুষের ক্রয়ক্ষমতার বাইরে চলে যায়।বর্তমানে দ্রব্যমূল্যের উর্ধ্বগতি আমাদের অর্থনীতির একটি পরিচিত সমস্যা। নিত্য প্রয়ােজনীয় জিনিপত্রের দাম লাফিয়ে লাফিয়ে বাড়ছে।দ্রব্যমূল্যের উর্ধ্বগতির কারণ বহু। মজুদ করে রাখা দ্রব্যমূল্য বৃদ্ধির অন্যতম সর্বাধিক গুরুত্বপূর্ণ কারণ। অসৎ ব্যবসায়ীরা অসৎ উদ্দেশ্যে দ্রব্যমূল্যের উর্ধ্বগতি নিত্যপ্রয়ােজনীয় জিনিসপত্র মজুদ করে রাখে এবং এর ফলে সরবরাহে স্থবিরতা দেখা দেয়। চোরাচালান এবং কালােবাজারও গুরুস্ব বিষয় যা মূল্যবৃদ্ধির কারণ। সীমান্ত দিয়ে সবসময়ই নিত্য প্রয়ােজনীয় জিনিসপত্র চোরাচালান হচ্ছে। স্বল্প উৎপাদনের দুণ সরবরাহে ঘাটতিও নিত্য প্রয়ােজনীয় জিনিসপত্রের দাম বাড়িয়ে দেয়। অপ্রত্যাশিত ও দৈব প্রাকৃতিক দূর্যোগ এর জন্য দায়ী। আমাদের জনসংখ্যা জ্যামিতিক হারে বেড়ে চলেছে। অথচ খাদ্য সরবরাহ বাড়ছে গাণিতিক হারে। এই কারণে আমাদের চাহিদার তুলনায় জিানসপত্রের সরবরাহ অত্যন্ত কম। দরিদ্র এবং নিম্ন আয়ের লােকজন দ্রব্যমূল্যের উর্ধ্বগতির মারাত্মক শিকার। অসৎ ব্যবসায়ীরা এর চরম সুফল ভােগকারী। যাহােক, পরিস্থিতি মােকাবলায় প্রয়ােজনীয় ব্যবস্থা ও সঠিক পদক্ষেপ নেওয়া উচিত। মজুত, চোরাচালান এবং কালােবাজাযর নিয়ন্ত্রণ করতে হবে। নিত্য প্রয়ােজনীয় জিনিসপত্রের পর্যাপ্ত সরবরাহ নিশ্চিত করতে হবে। সরকারকে কঠোরভাবে বাজার রক্ষণাবেক্ষণ করতে হবে। কোনাে মানুষ, সম্প্রদায় অথবা সরকারের পক্ষে একাকী সমস্যাটির সমাধান করা সম্ভব নয়। সুতরাং এর সমাধান করার জন্য আমাদের সকলের এগিয়ে আসা উচিত। সংবাদপত্র ও গণমাধ্যমের মাধ্যমে গণসচেতনতা বাড়ানাে যেতে পারে।
