The Life of a Farmer.
Answer : A farmer is one, who farms or cultivates the land for agricultural production. Bangladesh is an agricultural country. So farmers are the backbone of the nation. He is the most common figure in our country. Generally, he lives in a tiny house in the village. He also lives from hand to mouth. He has a small hut of his own or he lives another people's house. He is an active man. He shifts his labor to others for leading of his life. Everyday he gets up early in the morning. Then he takes his bath and takes some panta bhaat with stale vegetables. After completing his meal, he goes to his field to grow crops and plants. Though he has no field of his own, he works others' field like that of his own and grows much crop. Several times, he works from morning to afternoon in the field. Sometimes he works morning to midnight if he cannot complete his daily work or he has much work. He gets his wages at the end of the day. Then he goes to market to buy his daily goods and returns home. Usually he wears old and shabby clothes. His life is full of sorrows and sufferings. When he finds no work at that time, he and his family pass their time without eating. He lives below poverty line. He is unable to educate his children due to acute poverty and for his illiteracy. In spite of his unhappy life, he feels happy because he leads an honest life.

বঙ্গানুবাদ : একজন কৃষক হলাে সে যে কৃষি উৎপাদনের জন্য জমি চাষ করে। বাংলাদেশ কৃষিপ্রধান দেশ। তাই কৃষকেরা হলাে জাতির মেরুদ্ড। সে আমাদের দেশের সবচেয়ে পরিচিত ব্যক্তি। সাধারণত, সে গ্রামে এক ছােট বাড়িতে বাস করে। সে দিন এনে দিন খায়। সে একটি ছােট কুঁড়ে ঘরে থাকে অথবা সে অন্যের বাড়িতে বাস করে। সে কর্মঠ ব্যক্তি। গৃহে নিজের জীবনযাপনের জন্য অন্যের প্রতি নিজের শ্রম বিনিয়ােগ করে। প্রতিদিন খুব সকালে সে ঘুম থেকে উঠে। তারপর সে গোসল করে এবং পান্ডাভাতের সাথে বাসি শাকসবজি খায়। আহার শেষে, সে শস্য উৎপাদনের জন্য মাঠে যায়। যদিও তার নিজের কোনাে জমি নেই, সে অন্যের জমিতে নিজের জমির মতাে কাজ করে এবং অধিক শস্য ফলায়। বেশিরভাগ সময়, সে মাঠে সকাল থেকে সম্ধ্যা পর্যন্ত কাজ করে। মাঝে মাঝে সে সকাল থেকে মধ্যরাত পর্যন্ত কাজ করে যদি সে দৈনন্দিন কাজ শেষ করতে না পারে অথবা তার যদি অধিক কাজ থাকে। সে দিনের শেষে মজুরী পায়। তারপর সে তার দৈনন্দিন জিনিসপত্র কিনতে বাজারে যায় এবং বাড়ি ফিরে আসে। সচরাচর সে পুরাতন এবং জীর্ণ পােশাক পরিধান করে। তার জীবন দুঃখ-কষ্টে পরিপূর্ণ। যখন সে কোনাে কাজ খুঁজে না পায়, তখন সে এবং তার পরিবার না খেয়ে দিন অতিবাহিত করে। সে দারিদ্র সীমার নীচে বসবাস করে। চরম দারিদ্র্য এবং নিরক্ষরতার কারণে সে ছেলেমেয়েদের লেখাপড়া করাতে অসমর্থ। তার জীবন দুর্বিসহ হওয়া সত্ত্বেও সে সুখী কারণ সে সৎ জীবনযাপন করে।
