Ethnic Cleansing in Myanmar.
Answer : The word 'ethnic cleansing' refers to an attempt to get rid of members of an unwanted ethnic group in order to establish an ethnically similar geographic area. Ethnic cleansing can be done through deportation, displacement or even mass killing. “Ethnic cleansing" campaigns for ethnic or religious reasons have existed throughout history. The historical ethnic cleansing operations include the Turkish massacre of Armenians during World War I; the Nazi Holocaust of European Jews; and the forced displacement and mass killings carried out in the Myanmar in the last few years including the very recent one. The term has come into limelight when the brutal Burmese army began to kill the Rohingya Muslims violently. The reason behind this cleansing is that the Buddhist Myanmar considers Rohingya Muslims Bangladeshi. But Bangladesh says they are Burmese. As a result, they have become effectively stateless. On the other hand, the history of Rohingya Muslims' living there can be traced back to the 14th century. This cleansing operations are the gravest violation of humanity and human rights. We should consider humanity above everything. Regarding this, we should come in a 'common ground. We have to love the humanity irrespective of caste, creed and religion. Rohingya Muslims are considered to be among the world's most persecuted people. There are many things we can do for solving this problem. We need to provide emergency assistance for the displaced Rohingya. Then we should make the world people aware of this problem. We also have to make a coordinated move with the help of all international human rights' agencies. We should also make the Myanmar govt recognize the historical facts and documents. If we can ensure all these things, we hope, we can stop this grave problem in the present world.

বঙ্গানুবাদ : জাতিগত নির্মূল শব্দটি জাতিগতভাবে সাদৃশ্যপূর্ণ ভৌগলিক এলাকা প্রতিষ্ঠার জন্য অনাকাংখিত নৃগােষ্ঠীর সদস্যদের হাত থেকে মুক্তি পাওয়ার জন্য পদক্ষেপ নেওয়াকে বুঝায়। নির্বাসন, উৎখাত অথবা গণহত্যার মাধ্যমে "জাতিগত নির্মূল" চালানাে হয়। জাতিগত বা ধর্মীয় কারণে 'জাতিগত নির্মূল' ইতিহাসে চির বিরাজমান। ঐতিহাসিক জাতিগত নির্মূল অভিমানগুলের মধ্যে প্রথম বিশ্বযুদ্ধের সময় আর্মেনিয়ায় তুরস্কের হত্যাযজ্ঞ, ইউরােপের ইহুদিদের নাৎসি গণহত্যা এবং জোর পূর্বক উৎখাত ও বিগত বেশ কয়েক বছর এবং সাম্প্রতিককালের মিয়ানমারের ঘটে যাওয়া গণহত্যা উল্লেখযোগ্য। শব্দটি আলােচনার শীর্ষে চলে আসে যখন নৃশংস বার্মিজ সেনাদল নির্মমভাবে রােহিঙ্গা মুসলিমদেরকে হত্যা করতে শুরু করে। এই নির্মূল কর্মের অন্তরালের কারণটি হলো বৌদ্ধ ধর্মাবলম্বী মিয়ানমার রাষ্ট্রহীন রােহিঙ্গা মুসলমানদেরকে বাংলাদেশী বলে মনে করে। কিন্তু বাংলাদেশ বলছে তারা বার্মিজ। ফলে তারা রাষ্ট্রহীন হয়ে পড়েছে। পক্ষান্তরে সেখানে বসবাসরত রােহিঙ্গা মুসলমানদের ইতিহাস চতুর্দশ শতাব্দী থেকে চিহ্নিত করা হয়। এই নির্মূুল অভিযান মানবাধিকার ও মানবতার চরম লংঘন। আমাদের উচিৎ মানবতাকে সবকিছুর উর্ধ্বে তুলে ধরা। এই ক্ষেত্রে আমাদের সকলের সমভাবাপন্ন মনােভাব প্রয়ােজন। ধর্ম, বা গােত্র নির্বিশেষে আমাদের মানবতার প্রতি ভালােবাসা থাকা উচিৎ। রােহিঙ্গা মুসলমানদেরকে পৃথিবীর সবচেয়ে নির্যাতিত জনগােষ্ঠার অন্তর্ভুক্ত বলে বিবেচনা করা হয়। এই সংকট নিরসনে আমাদের বহুকিছু করার রয়েছে। আমাদের উচিৎ নিপীড়িত রােহিঙ্গাদের জন্য জরুরি সহযােগিতা প্রদান করা। অতপর আমাদের উচিৎ এই সংকট সম্পর্কে জগণকে সচেতন করে তােলা। আমাদেরর উচিৎ সকল আন্র্জাতিক মানবাধিকার সংস্থার সহায়তায় সম্মিলিত আন্দোলন গড়ে তােলা। আমাদের মিয়ানমার সরকারের কাছে ঐতিহাসিক ঘটনাসমূহের তথ্য তুলে ধরা। এই সবকিছু নিশ্চিত করতে পারলে আমরা আশা করতে পারি যে আমরা আধুনিক বিশ্বের এই মারাত্মক সংকট কন্ধ করতে পারি।
