Necessity of Learning English.
Answer : Language is the medium of expressing thought and feelings to others. The importance of learning English cannot be described in words. It is a widely spoken language in the world. So, we need to learn English for our higher education. Similarly, it is the storehouse of all knowledge of all books. If we want to earn vast knowledge and higher education in any branch, we are to take the help from those books. Today more than 80% of all the information in the world's computers is in English. So if we don't know English, we will fail to keep pace with the modern world. English is a must in order to get a good job. Today organizations need employees who speak a standard form of English. So it helps a man to get a good job and earn more money. Again, ours is an age of globalization. Many foreign guests and delegates come to our country. They do not know our mother tongue. Therefore, we need to learn English to communicate with them. From this, we can say that we need to learn English to join the advanced and developed world. But there are many problems in learning English in Bangladesh. We have shortage of skill teachers. It is also a foreign language. Students have an extra fear of learning English. To improve the English learning condition in Bangladesh, we can follow the Communicative Language Teaching. We should also train our teachers to become skilled. After all we have to give much importance in learning English.

বঙ্গানুবাদ : ভাষা হলাে অন্যের নিকট চিন্তা ও অনুভূতি ব্যক্ত করার মাধ্যম। ইংরেজি শেখার গুরুত্ব কথায় ব্যক্ত করা যায় না। এটি বিশ্বে বিস্তৃতভাবে ব্যবহৃত একটি ভাষা। সুতরাং আমাদের উচ্চ শিক্ষার জন্য ইংরেজি শেখা প্রয়ােজন। অনুরূপভাবে এটি হলাে সকল বইপত্রের সকল জ্ঞানের ভান্ডার। যদি আমরা যেকোন শাখায় অগাধ জ্ঞান ও উচ্চশিক্ষা লাভ করতে চাই তাহলে আমাদের সেই সকল বই থেকে সাহায্য নিতে হয়। বর্তমানে পৃথিবীর কম্পিউটারের সকল তথ্যের ৮০% হলো ইংরেজিতে। সুতরাং যদি আমরা ইংরেজি না জানি তাহলে আমরা আধুদিক বিশ্বের সাথে খাপ খাওয়াতে ব্যর্থ হব। ভালাে চাকরী পাওয়ার জন্য ইংরেজি অত্যাবশ্যক। এখন সংস্থাসমূহ সেই ধরণের কর্মী চায় যারা মানসম্মত ইংরেজি বলতে পারে। সুতরাং এটি কোন লােককে ভালাে চাকরি পেতে এবং অধিক উপার্জন করতে সাহায্য করে। আমাদের যুগ বিশ্বায়নের যুগ। অনেক বিদেশী অতিথী এবং প্রতিনিধি আমাদের দেশে আসে। তারা আমাদের মাতৃভাষা জানেনা। তাই তাদের সাথে যােগাযােগ করার জন্য আমাদের ইংরেজি শেখার প্রয়ােজন। এ থেকে আমরা বলতে পারি যে অগ্রসর ও উন্নততর দুনিয়ায় যােগদান করতে আমাদের ইংরেজি শেখা প্রয়োেজন। কিন্তু বাংলাদেশে ইংরেজি শেখায় বহু জটিলতা রয়েছে। আমাদের দক্ষ প্রশিক্ষণ ঘাটতি রয়েছে। এটি একটি বিদেশী ভাষাও। ছাত্রছাত্রীদের ইংরেজি শেখার ক্ষেত্রে অতিরিক্ত ভীতি রয়েছে। বাংলাদেশে ইংরেজি ভাষা শেখার অবস্থা উন্নয়ন করার জন্য আমরা কমিউনিকেটিভ ইংলিশ ল্যাগুয়েজ টিচিং অনুসরণ করতে পারি। দক্ষ হওয়ার জন্য আমাদের শিক্ষকগণকেও প্রশিক্ষণ দিতে হবে। মােট কথা আমাদের ইংরেজি শেখায় অধিক গুরুত্ব দিতে হবে।
