Answer : A poor girl named Rina worked in a rich man's house. The house master was kind to her but the mistress was very cruel. She used to scold her now and then. One day while serving tea, Rina broke a cup of tea. At this the mistress of the house got furious. She started beating the poor girl. The girl was crying loudly. A friend of the mistress was waiting in the living room. The girl's cry got to her notice. She came to the spot and became surprised with the manner of her friend treating with the girl. She told her friend, the mistress of the house that such kind of treatment is quite inhuman and a punishable offence. She tried to refrain her from beating. She snatched away the cane from her. Getting beaten up, Rina lost her sense and lay on the floor. The guest took Rina to a nearby clinic where she was given medical treatment. Rina got back her sense and told everything to a journalist in the clinic. She felt pity for her and informed the police. For this, the mistress of the house was arrested and taken to the custody. Rina was saved. She was handed over to her poor parents.

বঙ্গানুবাদ : রীনা নামক এক দরিদ্র মেয়ে এক ধনী লােকের বাড়িতে কাজ করত। বাড়ির মালিক তার প্রতি সদয় ছিলেন কিন্তু বাড়ির গৃহকত্রী ছিলেন ভীষণ নির্দয়। সে তাকে যখন তখন বকাঝকা করত। একদিন চা পরিবেশনের সময়, রীনা একটি চায়ের কাপ ভেঙে ফেলল। এতে গৃহকত্রী ক্লোধােন্মত্ত হয়ে গেলেন। সে অসহায় মেয়েটিকে মারধর করা শুরু করল। মেয়েটি চিতকার করে কাঁদছিল। বসার ঘরে গৃহকর্ত্রীর এক বান্ধবী বসে ছিলেন। তিনি মেয়েটির কান্না শুনতে পেলেন। তিনি ঘটনাস্থলে গিয়ে মেয়েটির সাথে তার বাম্ধবীর ব্যবহার দেখে অবাক হয়ে গেলেন। তিনি তার গৃহকত্রী বান্ধবীকে বললেন যে এইসব কাজ অমানবিক এবং শাস্তিযােগ্য অপরাধ। তিনি তাকে মারধর থেকে বিরত রাখতে চেষ্টা করলেন। তিনি তার হাত থেকে বেতটি কেড়ে নিলেন। মার খেয়ে রীনা অজ্ঞান হয়ে মেঝেতে পড়ে রইল। অতিথি রীনাকে নিকটস্থ হাসপাতালে নিয়ে গেলেন এবং সেখানে তাকে চিকিৎসা দেয়া হলাে। রীনার জ্ঞান ফিরলে সে হাসপাতালে এক সাংবাদিকের কাছে সব বলল। মেয়েটির জন্যে তার মায়া হলাে এবং সে পুলিশে খবর দিল। এই কারণে গৃহকত্রীকে গ্রেফতার করে জিম্মায় নেয়া হল। রীনা সুরক্ষিত ছিল। তাকে তার গরীব বাবা মায়ের নিকট হস্তান্তর করা হলাে।
