Answer : Our environment consists of three main components. These include air, water and soil. Pollution of these elements in the environment is called environmental pollution. Water is also an important element of nature. It is essential for the survival of all living things. Without it, the existence of fauna is inconceivable. Life on this earth is impossible without water. So it is said that water is another name for life. But this important element is being corrupted at every moment. Different types of garbage are contaminating the water. Garbage from industries, vehicles, households, vessels and people and animals is constantly being mixed with water. Also, farmers use a variety of fertilizers and pesticides on their land. All these chemicals are mixed with rain water and go to ponds and rivers. As a result, they pollute the water of ponds and rivers. The unplanned sewerage system in most rural areas and slums also pollutes the water, as most of these rivers; Located on the banks of canals, drains etc. The effects of water pollution are many. When we drink contaminated water, harmful pollutants enter our body and cause harm. According to diarrhea, dysentery, cholera, etc., the result of various kinds of deadly rageshake water pollution. If these are not boiled then the source and storage of pure water will be exhausted. We need to take all possible steps to protect the water. All types of garbage should be disposed of in a safe place so that they do not mix with water.

বঙ্গানুবাদ : আমাদের পরিবেশ তিনটি প্রধান প্রধান উপাদান নিয়ে গঠিত। এগুলাে হলাে বায়ু, পানি এবং মাটি। পরিবেশের এই উপাদান সমূহের দূষণকে পরিবেশ দূষণ বলা হয়। পানিও প্রকৃতির একটি গুরুত্বপূর্ণ উপাদান। এটি সকল জীবকূলের বেঁচে থাকার জন্য আবশ্যক। এটি ছাড়া জীবকূলের অস্তিত্ব আকল্পনীয়। পানি ছাড়া এই পৃথিবীতে জীবন অসম্ভব। সুতরাং বলা হয়ে থাকে যে পানির অপর নাম জীবন। কিন্তু এই গুরুত্বপূর্ণ উপাদানটি প্রতিমূহূর্তে দূষিত হচ্ছে। বিভিন্ন ধরণের ময়লা আবর্জনা পানিকে দূষিত করছে। শিল্প-কারখানা, যানবাহন, গৃহস্থালী, জলযান এবং মানুষ ও জীবজন্তুর আবর্জনা ও বর্জ্য প্রতিনিয়ত পানিতে মিশ্রিত হচ্ছে। এছাড়াও, কৃষকেরা তাদের জমিতে বিভিন্ন ধরণের সার ও কীটনাশক ব্যবহার করে। এই সকল রাসায়নিক উপাদান বৃষ্টির পানিতে মিশ্রিত হয়ে পুকুর ও নদনদীতে যায়। ফলে, এগুলাে পুকুর ও নদনদীর পানিকে দূষিত করে। অধিকল্তু গ্রাম এলাকার ও বস্তির অপরিকল্পিত পয়ঃনিফাশন ব্যৱস্থাও পানিকে দূষিত করে, কারণ এগুলোর বেশীরভাগ নদ-নদী; খাল-বিল, নর্দমা ইত্যাদির তীরে অবস্থিত। পানি দূষণের প্রভাব বহু। যখন আমরা দূষিত পানি পান করি তখন ক্ষতিকারক দূষক আমাদের দেহে প্রবেশ করে এবং ক্ষতি করে। ডায়রিয়া, আমাশয়, কলেরা ইত্যাদির মতাে বিভিন্ন ধরণের মারাত্মক রােগশােক পানি দূষণের পরিণাম। যদি এগুলা কধ করা না হয় তাহলে বিশুদ্ধ পানির উৎস ও মজুত ফুরিয়ে যাবে। পানিকে রক্ষা করার জন্য আমাদের সম্ভাব্য সকল পদক্ষেপ গ্রহণ করতে হবে। সব ধরণের ময়লা আবর্জনা নিরাপদ স্থানে ফেলতে হবে যেন এগুলাে পানির সাথে মিশতে না পারে।
