গতকাল আমি হেঁটে বাড়ি যাচ্ছিলাম। লম্বা খোঁচা খোঁচা দাড়িবিশিষ্ট এবং এক বাহু বিশিষ্ট একটা লোক আমাকে থামাল এবং "নূর মঞ্জিলের" রাস্তাটা কোন দিকে তা জিজ্ঞাসা করল। আমি ভীষণ অবাক হয়ে গেলাম কারণ তা ছিল আমার নিজ বাড়ি -----

Answer : I was walking home yesterday. A man with a long pointed beard and only one arm stopped me and asked me the way to "Nur Manjil". I was very surprised because that is my own house. I asked him what his name was. He avoided my question and asked me whether I knew the location or not. Then I told him that "Nur Manjil" is my own house. When he heard this, he became wordless and asked me if I was Palash. I became surprised thinking how he could know my name. He said, "You look the same as your father" "It is I who an! your lost uncle," he continued. Then he hugged me tightly with his chest and started crying. I hurriedly returned home along with my uncle. Everybody in the house became very happy to see him after a long time.

বঙ্গানুবাদ : গতকাল আমি হেঁটে বাড়ি যাচ্ছিলাম। লম্বা খোঁচা খোঁচা দাড়িবিশিষ্ট এবং এক বাহু বিশিষ্ট একটা লোেক আমাকে থামাল এবং "নুর মঞ্জিলের" রাস্তাটা কোন দিকে তা জিজ্ঞাসা করল। আমি ভীষণ অবাক হয়ে গেলাম কারণ তা ছিল আমার নিজ বাড়ি। আমি তাকে জিজ্ঞাসা করলাম যে তার নাম কী। তিনি আমার প্রশ্ন এড়িয়ে গেলেন এবং আমার কাছে জানতে চাইলেন আমি স্থানটি চিনি কি-না। তখন আমি তাকে বললাম যে "নূর মঞজিল" আমার নিজ বাড়ি। যখন তিনি তা শুনলেন তিনি নির্বাক হয়ে গেলেন এবং আমার কাছে জানতে চাইলেন যে আমি পলাশ কি- না। একথা ভেবে আমি অবাক হয়ে গেলাম যে তিনি কীভাবে আমার নাম জানলেন। তিনি বললেন, "তুমি দেখতে একদম তােমার বাবার মতাে। তিনি বলতেই থাকলেন, "আমি তােমার হারিয়ে যাওয়া চাচা।" এবারে তিনি আমাকে তার বুকে চেপে চাচাকে নিয়ে দ্রুত বাড়ি ফিরলাম। দীর্ঘদিন পর তাকে দেখতে পেয়ে বাড়ির সকলেই বেশ বেশ খুশী হলেন।
