Once upon a time a hungry fox was looking for food in the forest. He was wandering around. After a while he came to a vineyard. Some bunches of grapes were hanging on the vine. He was very tempted to see the grapes. He wanted to eat some grapes. But the grapes were hanging very high -----
একদা এক ক্ষুধার্ত শিয়াল বনে খাবার খুঁজছিল। সে এদিক সেদিক ঘােরাঘুরি করছিল। কিছুক্ষণ পরে সে একটি আঙ্গর বাগানে আসল। আঙুরগাছে আঙুরের কিছু থােকা ঝুলছিল। আঙুরগুলাে দেখে সে খুবই প্রলুদ্ধ হলাে। কিছু আঙুর খেতে চাইল। কিন্তু আঙুরগুলি বেশ উঁচুতে ঝুলছিল -----

Answer : Once upon a time a hungry fox was looking for food in the forest. He was wandering around. After a while he came to a vineyard. There were some bunches of grapes hanging from the vine. He was very tempted to look at the grapes. He wanted to eat some grapes. But the grapes were hanging quite high. The fox looked at the ripe grapes and thought of a vow very well. So he jumped to reach the grapes. But he could not catch the clusters of ripe grapes. He kept trying. Each time the grapes in the juice went out of his hands. So he got tired. Since he was tired, he sat down for a while to rest. After recovering, he jumped as high as he could to get his fingers. But this time too he failed. The poor fox was tired and frustrated again. He thought. There is no benefit in trying. So he left and said to himself, “Grapes are sour. I don't want to eat grapes.” That's how he comforted himself.
শিরোনাম : আঙ্গুরফল টক।
বঙ্গানুবাদ : একদা এক ক্ষুধার্ত শিয়াল বনে খাবার খুঁজছিল। সে এদিক সেদিক ঘােরাঘুরি করছিল। কিছুক্ষণ পরে সে একটি আঙ্গুর বাগানে আসল। আঙুরগাছে আঙুরের কিছু থােকা ঝুলছিল। আঙুরগুলাে দেখে সে খুবই প্রলুব্ধ হল। সে কিছু আঙুর খেতে চাইল। কিন্তু আঙুরগুলি বেশ উচুতে ঝুলছিল। শিয়ালটি পাকা আঙুর দেখে খুব ভালাে একটি ভােজনের চিন্তা করল। তাই সে আঙুরগুলাের নাগাল পেতে লাফ দিতে লাগল। কিন্তু সে পাকা আঙুরের গুচ্ছগুলাে ধরতে পারল না। সে প্রতিনিয়তই চেষ্টা চালিয়ে গেল। প্রতিবারই রসালাে আঙুরগুলি তার হাতছাড়া হয়ে গেল। কাজেই সে ক্লান্ত হয়ে পড়ল। যেহেতু সে ক্লান্ত ছিল, তাই সে বিশ্রাম নিতে কিছুক্ষণের জন্য বসে পড়ল। চাঙ্গা হওয়ার পর সে আঙুলগুলাে পাওয়ার জন্যে যত উঁচুতে পারল লাফ দিল। কিন্তু এবারও সে ব্যর্থ হল। বেচারা শিয়ালটি আবারও ক্লান্ত ও হতাশ হয়ে পড়ল। সে ভাবলাে আর চেষ্টা করে লাভ নেই। তাই সে চলে গেল এবং নিজে নিজে বলল, “আঙুর ফল টক। আমি আঙুর ফল খেতে চাইনা।” এভাবেই সে নিজেকে সান্ত্বনা দিল।
